Bill Gottfried holds a B.S. in Petroleum Marketing from The University of Tulsa; a M.B.A. in International Business from The George Washington University, Washington, D.C.; and he attends Executive Ed. at Harvard Business School. Bill was Commissioned a U.S Naval Officer at Officer Candidate School, Newport, Rhode Island; he graduated from the U.S. Navy Supply Corps School, Athens, Georgia; and the U.S. Department of Defense Petroleum School, San Diego, California. He is an Eagle Scout and he is listed in The Financial Times of London's "Who's Who In World Oil and Gas". Bill is a Knight of Silver Circle Member of The Army and Navy Club in Washington, D.C.
Bill began his career as a U.S. Naval Officer in the Arabian Gulf assigned to the Inspector of Naval Material, Petroleum Products, Middle East Area (INSMATPET) in Awali, Bahrain where he was responsible for petroleum shipments in Saudi Arabia, Iran, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Yemen (300,000 B/D).
Following his Middle East service, Bill worked with Mobil Oil Corporation as a Senior Marketing Analyst; he subsequently joined the Federal Energy Office in Washington, D.C. where he managed refined product and crude oil allocation programs providing supplies to U.S. refining and marketing companies. Following assignments with the Federal Energy Office and the Department of Energy, Bill worked with management consultants Booz-Allen & Hamilton, Inc. in Washington, D.C., Chicago, and Houston on strategic planning assignments for energy industry clients.
During the 1980's, Bill was a Vice President with a Houston based management consulting and executive search firm active worldwide in the oil and gas, agribusiness, biotechnology, and commercial space technology industries. Bill formed Gottfried International, Inc. in 1986 and has developed the firm's management consulting, project development, and executive search expertise in energy, agribusiness, biotechnology, health care, space technology, and real estate development.
Bill was a member of the first U.S. Government Trade Missions sent to Moscow, Western Siberia (Tyumen), and the Republic of Kazakhstan during the collapse of the Soviet Union to develop investment cooperation with the new Independent Republics. Bill was a founding member of the U.S.-Russia Business Council in Washington, D.C. and he organized the Energy and the Agribusiness Committees of the U.S.-Russia Business Council.
Bill served as Chairman of the Texas Association of Realtors International Committee, Chairman of the Houston Association of Realtors International Advisory Group, the National Association of Realtors Presidential Liaison to the United Arab Emirates, and he is a founding Board Member of the Houston Chapter of the Asian Real Estate Associaton of America (AREAA).
