We are a management consulting and project development firm based in Houston supporting our clients' investment interests. We have supported the biotechnology industry for over 30 years, forming the first biotechnology company in Houston. We were founding members of BIOHOUSTON and the Biotechnology Industry Association in Washington, D.C. We recruited the management teams for several of the first agricultural biotechnology companies. We formed several of the first commercial space technology companies and we formed one of the first commercial payloads for the International Space Station, a remote sensing and imaging platform for the energy industry. We have supported energy and agribusiness joint ventures in the U.S., China, Europe, Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and the Middle East. Our real estate team supports investments in Texas and in global markets. We are working with leading health care and medical research institutions in the Texas Medical Center in Houston to organize an integrated health care system that will provide preventive care for, and develop cures for, various cancers, including kidney cancer. We are members of The PARTNERSHIP for Baylor College of Medicine.
Bill Gottfried, our firm's founder/CEO, was selected to join the first U.S. Government Trade Missions sent to Russia and Kazakhstan during the collapse of the Soviet Union to support U.S. investments in the former Soviet Republics. Bill was a founding member of the U.S.-Russia Business Council in Washington, D.C. and he formed the Council's Energy Committee to support energy investment cooperation with Russia. We organized the first U.S. agribusiness joint venture in Kazakhstan.
Bill Gottfried began his career as a U.S. Naval Officer in the Middle East stationed in Awali, Bahrain; Ras Tanura, Saudi Arabia; Shuaiba, Kuwait; and Abadan, Iran where he managed petroleum shipments for the U.S. Department of Defense. We have been members of the Abadan Society, petroleum industry professionals who formerly worked in Abadan, Iran's oil center; U.S. and international energy associations; and Bill has attended OPEC Ministerial Meetings in Vienna, Austria at the invitation of the OPEC Secretariat.
Following military service in the Middle East, Bill worked in Washington, D.C. as a Petroleum Supply Analyst and as the Manager of the Crude Oil Allocation Program in the Federal Energy Office at The White House. Following government service, Bill was a Senior Associate with Booz, Allen & Hamilton Inc.'s Energy Division in Washington, D.C. and Houston supporting global energy industry clients.
Bill earned a B.S. in Petroleum Marketing from The University of Tulsa, Tulsa, Oklahoma; a M.B.A. in International Business from The George Washington University, Washington, D.C.; he has attended Executive Ed. Seminars at the Harvard Business School; he was commissioned a U.S. Naval Officer at Officer Candidate School, Newport, Rhode Island; and he graduated from Navy Supply Corps School, Athens, Georgia. Bill has been listed in the Financial Times of London's "Who's Who in World Oil & Gas", he is an Eagle Scout, and he is a member of The Army and Navy Club in Washington, D.C.
Bill served as Chairman of the International Advisory Group for the Houston Association of Realtors, Chairman of the International Committee for the Texas Association of Realtors, the National Association of Realtors Presidential Liaison to the United Arab Emirates, he is a Founding Board Member of the Asian Real Estate Association of America, Houston Chapter, and he has served on the Board of Directors for the Houston Association of Realtors and the Texas Association of Realtors. Bill is a Licensed Broker in The State of Texas.
